Rock Stars

Are you searching for an engaging after-school activity that will keep your kids active, build their confidence, and spark their sense of adventure? At Clip ‘n Climb Ilkley, our Rock Stars Climb Club has been a favourite for children aged 4–12, offering an exciting and rewarding way to learn climbing skills in a fun, instructor-led environment.

We’re delighted to announce a brand-new session for 2025! Starting in January, our Wednesday 5:20 pm session will become a mixed-age group for children aged 4 to 12 years, perfect for families with siblings who want to climb together. Here’s everything you need to know about this new session and why it could be the perfect fit for your child.

What Makes Rock Stars Climb Club Special?

Climbing is more than just a fun activity; it’s an incredible opportunity for children to develop both physically and mentally. At Rock Stars, we believe in creating a supportive environment where every child can thrive, regardless of their skill level or experience.

Each session is designed to balance structured learning with free exploration. Children start with a warm-up to get their bodies moving and ready for action, followed by exciting climbing challenges, games or disco climb (where we switch out the house lights and climb with the disco lights). The session concludes with free climb time, giving children the chance to work on their personal bests and challenge themselves to reach new heights.

Our staff guide the group through every step, ensuring safety while encouraging children to step out of their comfort zones. Each week, one climber is awarded the prestigious title of Rock Star of the Week, along with our much-loved trophy to take home – a proud moment to share with family and friends!

The Benefits of Climbing for Children

If you’ve never considered climbing for your child, you might be surprised at how many benefits it offers.

Builds Physical Strength and Fitness: Climbing engages the entire body, improving strength, coordination, and flexibility. It’s also a great cardio workout, especially for children who love to climb fast!

Enhances Problem-Solving Skills: Climbing requires kids to think on their feet—literally! They learn to plan routes, make quick decisions, and adapt to challenges as they climb.

Boosts Confidence and Resilience: Reaching the top of a wall can feel like an incredible achievement, especially for children who are new to climbing. It’s a confidence booster that helps them tackle challenges in other areas of life.

Encourages Social Interaction: Rock Stars is as much about making friends as it is about climbing. Kids cheer each other on, share tips, and celebrate each other’s successes, creating a positive and supportive atmosphere. Or why not encourage your friend to join with you and have some fun together?

We’ve been amazed by the progress our climbers make each week. Whether it’s mastering a tricky route or simply gaining the confidence to try something new, every child leaves our sessions with a sense of accomplishment.

Why Join Our New Wednesday Session?

Starting in January 2025, we’re opening our Wednesday 5:20 pm session to children aged 4–12 years. This mixed-age group is a fantastic opportunity for siblings to climb together, making it easier for families to manage busy schedules.

The session is open to both new and returning climbers, with activities tailored to suit all abilities. Whether your child is a seasoned climber or a complete beginner, they’ll find challenges and encouragement to help them grow.

What Parents Need to Know

Our Rock Stars Climb Club runs during school term-time only (usually a six-week or seven-week block). Enrolling in the new Wednesday session is simple:

Session Times: Wednesdays, 5:20 pm – 6:00 pm

Ages: 4–12 years (siblings welcome!)

Cost: £60 for the half-term block. New members pay an additional one-time £10 enrolment fee.

We also offer taster sessions, which are a great way to see if climbing is the right fit for your child before committing to a full block.

An adult must remain on-site for children under 12, but don’t worry, you can relax in our café, where drinks and snacks are available to purchase.
