Clip ‘n Climb Ilkley offers a very wide range of challenges that offer unique and extraordinary experiences! With their different shapes, vibrant colours and variety of textures, no challenge is alike.
It is impossible to get bored!
And for those looking for continuous improvement, our challenges have different levels of difficulty to push you harder, with different ways of doing each wall listed at the bottom of each one!
Beautiful climbing wall in the form of a lightning bolt
Climbing a ‘crack’ is a unique challenge for climbers as it requires good body positioning to maintain balance. The offset nature of this feature (side-pull technique with both hands in the crack) makes it even more interesting. It’s a very different and ultimately satisfying experience.
Difficulty Level 5
Climbing is all about problem-solving and the solution is not immediately clear with this challenge
All the hold ‘fronts’ are the same and it is only by careful inspection that the various routes to the top are revealed (by the colour behind the holds). You’ll need plenty of stamina while identifying the orientation of the holds and you’ll discover that this challenge is not as simple as it looks…
Difficulty Level 2
A unique climb designed to reflect the ice axe technique used in real ice climbing
Climbers place their ‘picks’ in holes in the top of each hold, which also doubles as the foothold and work their way steadily up the climb. You’ll need a great sense of balance and body movement to beat this awesome challenge!
Difficulty Level 5
Stay calm & well balanced whilst climbing, then feel the adrenaline rush of simply stepping off
No hands required, climbers are challenged instead to walk their way to the top, using steady balance and careful footwork to avoid the drop and then step off into the centre and glide to the floor. This one is not for the faint hearted. Height restriction applies – climbers must be 120cm to climb, little legs simply aren’t long enough to step from pole to pole.
Difficulty Level 5
An absolutely stunning and powerful visual attraction
Twister is not only a centre piece; it is a great climbing challenge, where you can peep round the corners at the other climber. This double-sided element accommodates 2 climbers at the same time. Handholds are ‘jugs’ on one side and ‘underclings’ on the other side. Test your sense of balance and discover new ways to the top. The near side climb is harder then the far side, so watch out if someone challenges you to a race to the top.
Difficulty Level 3
Spin your way to the top of this unique interactive challenge
Thanks to some clever background technology, each of the offset discs rotates to the left and right, leaving you little time for thinking or resting on the way to the top. You need fast hands and accurate footwork to maintain your balance. You’ve got to move quickly to beat this challenge!
Difficulty Level 5
Race your mate to the top of this very popular element
This stimulating and highly original climbing challenge uses commercial gauge clear acrylic. Heaps of options for interactive fun, with climbers on both sides striving to be first to the top. Use the slopers, jugs, side pulls and underclings to good advantage or challenge your mate to ‘mirror’ your moves!
Difficulty Level 2
A super interesting organic-looking wall, with the tactile excitement of the triffid shapes
Enjoying a real ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ moment on this most challenging element. The large three dimensional holds invite climbers to grip them in many different ways. There is no right or wrong way to climb: climb it anyway you can, it all depends on the size of the climber and micro features on the shapes provide extra handhold opportunities.
Difficulty Level 5
Hugely popular, this speed challenge provides for the naturally competitive instincts within us all
We have 2 Speed Climb Walls so you can race to the top, but both walls have a timer, so that you can try to beat your own PB (personal best). Simply press the button at the start and at the top and the clock will stop at your time. Or if you are too little to get to the top, then have fun setting off the timer anyway. You can also record you PB on Speed Wall our time board with a chance to win a prize.
Difficulty Level 3
This is a popular stunning bright and coloured element
An excellent first climb for younger climbers who can go straight up the middle as if they were climbing a ladder. Challenging for fit and flexible adults who can work their way to the top via the most difficult route, using the under-cling handholds.
Difficulty Level 3
The honeycomb created by these unique hexagonal shaped holds make a visually stimulating challenge
Offering many different routes to the top, with coloured holds determining the degree of difficulty. Some big moves are required depending on the colour of the route, but balance and good coordination are required in any case! This wall is a favourite with our new or little climbers due to the evenly placed hexagons.
Difficulty Level 1
Bright colourful LED lights reflect brilliantly off the metallic checkerplate surface
This creates another visually stimulating challenge with handhold options: palming, undercling and pinch. This iconic climb offers lots and lots of ways to climb on a unique terrain. Careful climbing and problem-solving is required. Careful though it can get slippy.
Difficulty Level 3
A colourful climb, which enables smaller OR NEW climbers to steadily weave their way to the top
Multiple routes to the top with easier options for the beginner and a more complex challenge using selected colour foot and handholds that require increased flexibility and problem-solving skills. Another favourite for our little ones and lots of places to hide a teddy for those who want to find them.
Difficulty Level 2
Vibrant pixels form a mesmerizing, eye-catching geometry
Work out how best to grip the round holds and choose your colour to climb your route to the top. This is one of our newer walls, and is much trickier than it looks, as those holds are difficult to grab onto.
Difficulty Level 2
Velocity presents a formidable challenge, offering three ascent routes of varying difficulty
Mimicking the obstacles encountered by rock climbers, with side pulls and undercut holds testing one’s skill. The timer allows progress tracking per climb giving you a chance to set a personal best. The holds on this one are not where you think they are making it much more tricky than Hexed, so do not be fooled.
Difficulty Level 5
Doesn’t everyone love climbing trees?
Our tree is as high as our building, tucked into the corner. Make your way up as far as you can go and if you get to the top you will find a purple hand to tap before you glide down to the bottom.
Difficulty Level 2
This a brilliant Challenge for both first-time CLIMBERs and younger children
Sometime people don’t realise this one is called Amazing because it is a “maze”. Handholds and footholds can be gripped in a variety of ways and it can even be climbed blindfolded. The handholds at the top section become trickier to grasp, so if you are cheering your climber on from the bottom don’t be surprised if they don’t quite make the top.
Difficulty Level 3
Do you have good balance, strong arms and steady legs?
Jungle Vines requires an altogether different climbing technique, with the ability to ‘hang out’ from the wall. With little support for your feet compared to some walls, this one needs strong arms and good core strength.
Difficulty Level 6
