Clip ‘n Climb Ilkley is nestled in the heart of Ilkley, at the Station Plaza on Ilkley Railway Station.

With the design of the café overlooking the arena, we offer you the chance to watch your child’s climbing experience from up high, whilst enjoying a coffee and cake.  Or treat everyone to lunch or snack.

Sally and Richard Shelton have fully owned Clip ‘n Climb Ilkley since 2022. Running it as a family owned business is so important to them and this shows in the way the staff are trained to interact with the customers.  Sally always maintains she runs the business as a mum, always trying to make those little differences, whether that is spending time with a single unsure climber, praising children for great climbing or manners or by nurturing the teenage staff to excel in customer service and build their confidence.

Although Clip ‘n Climb Ilkley shares the fabulous branding of the Clip ‘n Climb name and the walls are the top quality walls used in the Olympics, we are not a franchise or a chain.  By visiting us, you are supporting local and keeping an amazing facility in the heart of the town.  Although we would love to be bigger to offer customers an even better experience, we have to make the most of what we have, effectively running 2 businesses (arena and cafe) with all the health and safety that both those businesses demand. Booking in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment, as our sessions get booked up quickly for weekends and holiday climbs. 

Alternatively, if we are not busy then we may have to close early, so again please book before you come.

Weekend Parties (Saturday and Sunday):

Parties slots with food are 11am/1pm/3pm climb.

Climb-only parties – these are the cost of the climb only, so £15.95 per head and no minimum.

Weekday Parties (After School):

We are usually quieter during the week.

Loose fitting clothes are recommended

Only closed toe shoes are allowed. For safety reasons, we cannot allow sandals, flip flops, wellies or rock shoes into the Clip ‘n Climb Arena.

Please keep jewellery to a minimum. We do have the facility to safely store valuables if required.

Crop tops are not suitable because the harness may rub onto the skin, so please wear a longer top.

We are located at the end of the platform at Ilkley train station, you can park in the Station Plaza car park next to the train station (off Railway Road),  Please no not park in the Train Users Car Park or you will get a ticket.

You can park for up to  2½ hours  in the Station Plaza car park situated along Railway Road Ilkley next to the train station (turning off Brook Street at Costa Coffee).  This is strict 2½ hour parking, controlled by camera, run by a private company and nothing to do with the businesses on the station.    

Alternative parking may be found in Ilkley Main car park Post Code LS29 9DX.  We are just a few minutes’ walk up through the top of the town following directions for the Railway Station.  Please note that street parking is now parking meters and you will need change or to download the app to pay on your phone, as they do not take credit card. Do not park in the Rail Users car park, as this is for people who use the train.

 

School Holidays & Weekends: Open 9:10 am – 5 pm.

Term-time Weekdays:  We are open Monday & Friday, plus sessions on other days – check by clicking on BOOK A CLIMB.  

We may close early if no bookings

Private Bookings: Weekday teatime/evenings available.

Closed: Christmas Day, Boxing Day, Easter Sunday, New Year’s Day

If it looks like we will be closed when you want to come, then please just drop us an email, as we may be able to accommodate your need.

Please let us know as soon as possible by email (if out of hours) or by phone (if we are open).  We can pop your booking into our postponed section on our booking system and you can reschedule when you are better.  We cannot offer a refund.  We hope you get better soon.

Climb rescheduling in advance: 

If you need to re-schedule your regular / tots climb in advance, we can do that for you, as long as you give us at least 24 hours notice. We can hold your booking for up to 3 months. We cannot offer a refund.

Booked the wrong Clip ‘n Climb?

Clip ‘n Climb Ilkley is an independently family-owned business.  We are not a chain, and your booking is not transferable to or from any other Clip ‘n Climb centre.   We can offer a refund if we have a minimum of 48hrs notice (charges apply), or why not come and try us out for a change, we can postpone your booking to another date.  If you only notice you have booked the wrong place when you arrive at the other venue, then we feel it is clear on our booking system that you are booking Ilkley, so no refund will be given. Your booking is taking the place of another paying customer.

Refunds:  In the rare event a refund is issued, you will be charged an admin fee.

Party POSTPONEMENT OR cancellation:  

Your party has probably been booked for months, but occasionally something happens which leads to a need to re-schedule.  For Party Postponement: please drop us an email or call us to discuss this.

Cancellation: if you want to cancel a party then you will lose your non-returnable deposit. 

Do parents need to stay?  

You need to stay onsite if your child is under 12.  If your child cannot clip themselves in one adult may stay in the arena.  

Children can usually clip themselves in at about 8 years old.

When do I need to arrive?  

You must arrive 20 minutes before your booked climb time.

What if I am sick on the day?

Can I buy climb gift vouchers?  

Yes, you can buy vouchers. These are sold at the value of the climb.  Please call the centre on 01943 603829 OR buy gift vouchers online

Climb Gift Vouchers can be bought in 2 ways at Clip ‘n Climb Ilkley.  They are valid for 6 months and are the value of the climb purchase, either Regular 4+ Climb or Tots Climb. They can only be used at Clip ‘n Climb ILKLEY.  Please read full terms and conditions at point of order.

If you would like a hard copy voucher to give in an envelope, then please call into the centre to purchase. These can be posted out at a small charge, if you are not local.
